Aegirine

NaFe3+Si2O6IMA symbol: Aegapproved

Aegirine is a silicate mineral with the formula NaFe3+Si2O6, crystallizing in the monoclinic system. It has a Mohs hardness of 6-6.5, typically black, brown, green or red in color, with a resinous or vitreous luster, a specific gravity of 3.5-3.55. Its streak is gray or yellow.
