Diamond is a native element or alloy mineral with the formula C, crystallizing in the cubic system. It has a Mohs hardness of 10, the maximum of the scale, typically colorless, white, black or blue in color, with an adamantine or dull luster, a specific gravity of 3.516-3.525. Its streak is white.
