Jadeite

NaAlSi2O6IMA symbol: Jdapproved

Jadeite is a silicate mineral with the formula NaAlSi2O6, crystallizing in the monoclinic system. It has a Mohs hardness of 6.5-7, typically white or green in color, with a pearly or vitreous luster, a specific gravity of 3.33-3.35. Its streak is red.
