Variscite is a phosphate, arsenate, or vanadate mineral with the formula Al(PO4)·2H2O, crystallizing in the orthorhombic system. It has a Mohs hardness of 4, typically colorless or green in color, with a vitreous luster, a specific gravity of 2.408. Its streak is white.
