Vesuvianite is a silicate mineral with the formula (Ca,Na)19(Al,Mg,Fe)13(SiO4)10(Si2O7)4(OH,F,O)10, crystallizing in the tetragonal system. It has a Mohs hardness of 6.5, typically blue, brown, green or yellow in color, with a resinous or vitreous luster, a specific gravity of 3.35-3.45. Its streak is white.
